This Sunday’s Charity Cricket – important info enclosed

Not long now before the Village Cricket Extravaganza ! Weather looks OK !

Thanks for all those volunteering for the game; below are the teams. If you haven’t replied and would like to play, there is still time – although we do have the regulation 11-a-side, we can accommodate additional players easily – the more the merrier! Just drop me a line and we’ll fit you in.

First ball is at 2.00pm, but please arrive earlier to hear the rules – standard MCC rules apply, with some minor variations 🙂

The bar will be open from 1.00pm. It is a cash/donations bar, so please remember to bring some ! As mentioned before, bribery of the officials is encouraged, all proceeds going to Village & Church funds.

In that regard, we have two very experienced umpires in MSL and Haigh, so we are ready to go – looking forward to what should be a fun afternoon ! Teams are as follows:

Bit of house-keeping;

  1. There are no requirements on attire – if you have whites, feel free to wear them, if not anything comfortable for running around is fine. Fancy dress is encouraged !
  2. Kit will be provided, but if you have any of your own, please do bring it along
  3. For any spectators, we will have the village gazebo up, for some protection from the blazing sun, with some seating and tables. Please do ensure you’re aware of social distancing requirements while on site. For the players, there are some sanitisation rules for playing cricket, which we will be observing. We will explain the requirements on the day.

Final thing – if there are any volunteers to do 30 mins or so behind the bar and keep the juice flowing, it would be much appreciated. Please let me know if you can help. Thanks !
