History weekend

Preston Bissett History Weekend

In October 2017 Preston Bissett held a History Weekend to celebrate the lives and times of our little piece of Buckinghamshire. Organised by the Village History Group, the weekend featured guided walks, talks, treasure hunts, a blue plaque trail and an exhibition of photographs, films and local exhibits in the Old School Rooms.

Exhibits and content was donated from a number of villagers’ family archives including previously unseen footage, forgotten stories and some new tales spanning the last 300 years.

The weekend was a great success attracting visitors from around the county and even further afield to trace their family’s history or to add their own additions to the exhibits and photographs already on display. You can see some of these photos here. http://www.nethercleft.com/prestonbissett)

The History Group intends to organise future activities, so if you have any information, photos or stories about village life that you’d like to add to our archive please send a message to Andy Nethercleft via the contact link above.
