Preston Bissett Leisure Facilities (PBLF) Fund
This fund was formed nearly 20 years ago to provide
grants to projects, clubs and societies in Preston
Bissett.
Over this period, it has supported the Recreation
Ground construction, Cricket, Table Tennis and
Croquet clubs and on many occasions it has provided
equipment for the village fete, the village hall and the
village itself.
The Fund now stands at just over £1900.
Originally this Fund was called the Preston Bissett
Village Hall Fund (I have records going back to 1970 but
I believe it traces back to the 1950’s). So it is
heartening to know the new Village Hall Trustees has
launched an appeal to raise £100,000 for the
refurbishment of our Village Hall.
We believe this ambitious project deserves the whole
village support. So, the Preston Bissett Leisure Fund
Committee has unanimously agreed to make its final
donation of £1900 to this appeal. We wish the Trustees
‘all the best’.
The PBLF Fund will now be wound up having fulfilled its
remit to serve the needs of the village.
