Happy Christmas
Graham and Ron
Dear All, We are hoping to provide an opportunity for everyone to attend a Christmas service if they wish to do so. I fully appreciate that many do not wish to attend a service in church at present and we are therefore continuing to offer an online service every Sunday as well as an online service on Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day. Our main problem is that required social distancing greatly reduces the seating available. We cannot even contemplate holding any of our four Crib Services on Christmas Eve because the attendances are always wonderful. However, we are providing our first-ever online Crib Service (or Family Service) on Christmas Eve instead, available to view from 10.00am.
Unfortunately, the attendance number for our other Christmas services may be more than we can now seat. To overcome this, we are asking you to choose which service you prefer. If you wish to attend more services you can also make a second choice, but anyone making a first choice for those services will take priority. Booking a seat is a requirement for all services. Please state if sitting on your own or with others (if permitted by current guidelines) and provide all names. Masks must be worn and sanitiser is provided.
Please think carefully whether it is wise for you to attend because of vulnerability, whether with regard to yourself or for those you need to consider. To book, please email me at david@s3d.co.uk
There are three services to choose from: Sunday 20th December 11.00am Christmas Service with the traditional Christmas readings plus recorded choral versions of carols to listen to but I regret we are still not permitted to sing ourselves. Christmas Eve 11.30pm ‘Midnight Service’, a Group Service for all our churches held at Marsh Gibbon Church this year, of Holy Communion with music as described above. Christmas Day 11.00am Family Communion Service with music as described above.
It may be difficult for which I apologise but, if possible, please book for any of the services by Friday 18th December. I cannot calculate if we have sufficient seats for everyone until responses are known and I obviously need time to let you know if there is a problem. Even a response saying you are not attending will be helpful. I look forward to hearing from you.
Kind Regards
