Brighten the life of a child – local appeal

Preston Bissett Church are supporting Marsh Gibbon in their annual appeal to brighten the life of a child. Please see details below. Ron Aspinall is the ‘collection hub’ for our village……The Laurels, Leys Lane. Third house on the left with a street light on the corner of the drive!

St Mary’s Church, Marsh Gibbon invites you to make a gift that will brighten up the life of one of 45 children, mostly aged 1 – 12 years who will be spending Christmas cared for by the Milton Keynes Women’s Refuge because of domestic abuse.

Sadly, we cannot hold our Crib Service this Christmas Eve when gifts are normally given because we cannot socially distance the 200+ who usually attend. However, we are determined not to disappoint the Refuge. Instead, gifts can be delivered to the Rectory, Marsh Gibbon (next to the school) any time before Friday 18th December when they will be delivered to MK ready for Christmas.

The Refuge asks for presents to be in a plastic bag or in a gift bag with a label indicating for a boy or a girl and age. Please note that second-hand items, toy guns, knives or candles are unacceptable.

This year, supermarket vouchers for families are also welcome which may be easier to purchase. Also new children’s pyjamas or presents for the children to give their mothers.

Many thanks
