An update on the new unitary council – Jan 2020

Thank you to those of you who shared feedback during our ‘Your Council, Your Services, Your Views’ budget and priorities consultation in November, either on behalf of your town/parish council or as an individual.

On 7 January, the draft budget and financial plan for the next three years was considered by the Shadow Executive. The draft budget outlines the £1 billion spending plans for the new Buckinghamshire Council and reflects feedback received during the budget and priorities consultation.

We are now asking for your further comments

Details of the proposed budget plans can be found on the Shadow Authority website. On this page you will also find details of a short online form which can be used to share any further comments on the detailed budget proposals.

Please send us your comments by the end of January.

You can also take part in the Overview and Scrutiny Committee budget challenge sessions by watching the webcast of these sessions and sending your questions to us on social media (you can find us on Facebook and Twitter) using #BucksBudget2020.

What happens next?

14-17 January – Budget examined in detail by the Shadow Overview and Scrutiny Committee during budget scrutiny sessions

Details of the sessions, including the agenda for each day, can be found on the Shadow Authority website.

18 February – Final budget for Buckinghamshire Council presented to Shadow Executive

Details of this meeting will be published here.

27 February – Final budget and medium term financial plan presented for approval at the Shadow Authority meeting

Details of this meeting will be published here.

All of these meetings are open to the public and will be webcast live online.

Kind regards
