A quick note re: pumpkins

Pumpkins

At this time of year we see a lot of posts encouraging you to leave pumpkins out for wildlife. It is very important not to leave them on the ground, they act as a laxative for hedgehogs and will cause them to become quite poorly. They already have to gain as much weight as possible for hibernation and a bad stomach will only prevent this. You can put them high up in trees for birds & squirrels.Hedgehogs do not have a ceacum so cannot digest the fruit!

Many thanks
