| Preston Bissett Village Hall update (as at 1 April 2021) Dear All We want to let you know where we have got to on getting the village hall back to a useable condition and a better facility. Firstly, we want to thank you for your patience while steps are taken to make this happen.By way of background, we first need to establish a charity to run the hall and secure its future for the long term. So far, we have: 1. Got four volunteers to be the initial trustees of the charity, namely: a. Carl Shute b. Anna King c. Harry Morten d. Mark Payne 2. Submitted an application to the Charity Commission for charitable status. We should have this bit completed by the end of May.Once that has happened, we: a. Will need to agree the leasing arrangements with the owners and these are broadly agreed in principle. b. Can foresee a meeting of villagers to decide how we proceed regarding: • Planning the improvements and then making them happen. • Volunteers to manage and maintain the hall. • Fund raising.
